IML Security Technicians Earn Key Certifications at 44th Annual Yankee Security Convention

IML Security Team gain hands-on training in electronic locks, door hardware, and code compliance from top industry experts.

Springfield, MA— IML Security (Island Master Locksmith) employees recently attended the Yankee Security Convention, one of North America’s largest and most respected security shows. The convention, held from October 23-27 at the MassMutual Center, brought together industry professionals for hands-on learning, networking, and professional growth. IML technicians, Michael McGarvey, John Mcalonan and Mario Merensztein, received in-depth training at the conference on the latest in electronic safe locks, mechanical door closers, fire door assemblies, and electric strike applications.

The Yankee Security Convention certification programs and courses—taught by industry-leading instructors—provided practical, hands-on experience with a focus on the components, installation techniques, and regulatory codes crucial for the security industry.

Certifications earned:

Michael McGarvey, Technician 

Michael earned his Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) Electronic Safe Lock Programming & Service certification from ALOA certified continuing education instructor Phil Sutherland at the show. Michael also took an in-depth course on Door Closers & Fire Door Inspections from Don Cherry, a leading PSP (Physical Security Professional) instructor certified by American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) and a CCPR (Certified Construction Product Representative). 

John Mcalonan, Technician

John earned his Associated Locksmiths of America (ALOA) Electronic Safe Lock Programming & Service certification at the show from ALOA certified continuing education instructor Phil Sutherland. John also took a skills course on Lagard Safe Lock Service, Programming & Defeat, also from instructor Sutherland.

Mario Merensztein,Technician

Mario took a course on Electric Strike Installation & Application, instructed by ALOA certified continuing education instructor Roger Schmidt.
